As we increase our market presence and ramp-up production we're looking for a talented individual to help us refine our internal quality processes and mature our supply base.

You should be passionate and knowledgeable about:

  • Supplier quality management, specifically SCAR and 8D processes;
  • Electronics manufacturing - PCBA and mechanical assembly;
  • Process capability measurement, analysis, and improvement;
  • Lean manufacturing;

And this is what we'd expect of you:

  • Act as the primary quality interface for SmartD customers. Respond to quality concerns as they arise, and support customer audits of our key suppliers as required.
  • Address quality issues with suppliers. Issue corrective actions and follow through to satisfactory completion.
  • Develop and optimize final assembly manufacturing processes for our VFDs;
  • Assess the capability of internal manufacturing processes and implement improvements;
  • Develop and deploy incoming inspection criteria and sampling methodology;
  • Assess supplier quality and capability and issue corrective actions as required;
  • Collaborate in the development and deployment of automated test fixtures;
  • Diagnose the root cause of in-process failures and implement corrective action as required;
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to implement design changes and optimizations;
  • Prepare product MTBF calculations for publication to customers

Experience requirements:

  • Supplier quality management (3 years)
  • Electronics manufacturing (3 years)
  • Lean manufacturing (3 years)
  • Process capability measurement, analysis, and improvement (3 years)

Language requirement

  • English: Professional
  • French: Professional (preferred)

Interview process

The hiring process for this position will consist of 3 interviews:

  • 1st interview with HR representative - 20 minutes via Google Meet - General discussion, confirmation of interest
  • 2nd interview with the department's head - 30 minutes via Google Meet - General technical discussion
  • 3rd interview with your future colleagues and supervisor - 1 hour on-site - In-depth technical discussion + tour of the office

  • We expected people to come a majority of their time to the office
  • Bus stops for lines 35, 36, and 71 are just outside the office. It is also a 10-minute walk away from the Lucien l'Allier metro station (Orange line) and a 10-minute bus (lines 35 and 36) to Lionel-Groulx (Green and Orange lines).
