SALARY: $36.84 - $51.77

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging or designate, the MRI Technologist is responsible for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanning: reviewing requisitions, ensuring proper protocols, preparing patients for scan, reviewing images and discussing findings with Radiologist, ensuring patient care, and safety during procedures, performing quality control measures on system as recommended.

The MRI Technologist provides high quality, safe, effective care in partnership with patients and families, in accordance with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) professional standards and STEGH's mission, vision, values and policies.

HOURS:

The successful candidate must be available to work all shifts applicable to the department including days, afternoons, weekends and holidays. Availability and non-availability must meet the requirements outlined in the Collective Agreement

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Graduate of an accredited Magnetic Resonance Imaging Program
Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) in MRI
Six (6) months of recent MRI experience
Preference will be given to applicants with Medical Radiation Technology (MRT) education and experience
Current BLS certification
Demonstrate good stewardship in the identification, reporting and mitigation of unsafe acts or conditions
Ability to exercise good judgement and application of practical and theoretical knowledge
Ability to work independently and make sound judgments involving technical and confidential material
Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office software, e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook and Electronic Patient Record Software, e.g. Cerner
Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues and physicians
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
Physical ability to perform the essential duties of the job
Excellent and dependable attendance record
Acceptable performance record that is aligned with STEGH values
Current registration with Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologist (CAMRT) preferred
