POSITION: Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT)

UNIT: Diagnostic Imaging

STATUS: Regular Part Time

SALARY: $36.84 - $50.24

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, the MRT will work as part of a highly skilled interdisciplinary team and will perform all diagnostic work in the OR, mobile/portable procedures, special procedures, and be able to work independently in the CT scanner.

The MRT must have the knowledge, skills, and judgement to practice safely by adhering to provincial/federal legislation and guidelines, departmental protocols/policies, and manufacturers' guidelines pertaining to health and safety.

HOURS:

The successful candidate must be available to work all shifts applicable to the department including days, afternoons, nights, weekends and holidays.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Successful completion of an approved program of Medical Radiation Technology
CAMRT/CMRITO Registration as an MRT(R)
Minimum of two (2) years' experience as an MRT preferred
Full CT experience in a Hospital setting
Completion of a certified Contrast Injection for Radiographers Course within the last 5 years
Current BLS Certification
Intermediate knowledge level of Microsoft Word and Excel
Effective positive interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
Demonstrated ability to work well independently and in a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, and to critically problem-solve, and prioritize workload
Demonstrated flexibility within roles and responsibilities with the ability to adapt quickly to changes in assignment throughout a shift
