We service customers in a variety of industries: Marine, Forestry, Mining, Material Handling, Original Equipment Manufacturing, Agriculture, and Production facilities. Norcan is the Western Canada distributor for Bosch Rexroth.
Norcan is currently searching for an Outside Sales Representative to join our team. This is a full-time position in the specialty field of hydraulics that would report to our Leduc Branch and provide sales and service to Northern Alberta.
The Outside Sales representative would be responsible for developing relationships with customers, growing accounts in their assigned territory to commercial and industrial enterprises and providing field service when needed. This position requires exercising independent judgment to perform the responsibilities described and does require routine monthly travel.
Required Qualifications and Experience
3+ years experience in an Outside Sales service role
3+ years experience in the Hydraulics industry
Integrity, vision, professionalism, and passion are key components of this position
Ability to follow, with detail, written and verbal instructions
Strong attendance track record with the ability to get along well with others
Exceptional verbal, written and listening communication skills
Knowledge of distribution sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques
Proven ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers
Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm
Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures
Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
Must be computer literate with knowledge of all standard Microsoft Office programs
Recommended Qualifications
3+ years experience in a mechanical profession
3+ years experience within the hydraulics industry
Knowledge of components and hydraulic systems used in industry and mobile equipment
Responsibilities:
Promote our Brand including product lines such as Bosch Rexroth and service capabilities
Routine sales travel to visit new and existing customers is required
Identify and properly qualify new business opportunities using available resources
Provide customer support by responding to customer inquiries and requests
Partner with current customers to ascertain current needs and generate additional sales
Review customer requirements and provide proposals and quotations
Prepare annual territory projections for Management
Prepare monthly sales plan
Work closely with the inside customer service staff to ensure the customer receives the best service possible
Work closely with all members of the Sales team to recognize & promote sales opportunities
Ensure that databases are current and updated with accurate customer information
Routinely pull and reference system reports for additional sales opportunities
Execute timely preparation of all expense reports, call reports and assigned projects
Keep Branch and Sales management informed of all relevant activity
