Occupational Therapist (OT) from MVA and Psychotherapy Trauma Program

What do you need to be successful?
You are client-centered, target co-creation, and enjoy collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
You have strong verbal/written communication skills
You use good judgement and apply critical thinking when making clinical decisions
You have demonstrated commitment to professional development

Qualifications:
You have a University Degree in Occupational Therapy
You are a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO)
You have a valid Driver's Licence and access to a vehicle
A minimum of 1 year of general OT mental health experience
Completion of at least one of the following courses: CBT, ACT, DBT (please note if you do not have this there is opportunity to take one of the following courses in your first year with FA)

What is a day in the life of a FA Occupational Therapist?
You will assess and treat individuals suffering from various neurological, orthopedic disorders, mental health and injuries
You will assist clients with establishing and meeting meaningful goals within their home and in a community setting
You will create and implement individualized treatment plans based on occupational analysis and clinical reasoning
You will liaise with a variety of community partners and rehab professionals to facilitate client goals and independence
You will maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending training sessions and establishing personal networks
