Position Summary

The Recovery & Addictions Clinical Nurse Lead is an RN/RPN who will enhance the safe and effective delivery of services across all program areas by providing clinical nursing perspectives and support to each site in partnership with the responsible Program Manager. This position will also work in partnership with Recovery & Addiction Program Managers to develop systems that support clinical practice by participating and providing knowledge of clinical practice within the portfolio. The Clinical Nurse Lead will provide guidance and mentoring to other RN/RPNs and LPNs in the organization and specifically supervise the clinical practice of staff within the Withdrawal Management Programs including the Licensed Practical Nurses and other designated staff. The incumbent ensures that the day-to-day operations of the service are delivered in accordance with The Bridge's philosophy, policies, and procedures, and holds the safety and well-being of the people in care as their priority concern. This position provides ongoing clinical & program supervision, performance coaching and evaluation nursing staff, and, as a member of the agency Leadership Team, participates in a variety of agency initiatives and community and agency committees. This position will be part of a Nursing roster that supports the safe and sustainable operations of the program as a member of Nurse on Call (NOC) for the Withdrawal Management sites (minimum 20 days per month).

Position: Full Time 40 hours per week

Compensation: Grid level Clinical Nurse Lead $45.74 - $53.76 per hour plus applicable shift premiums
Evening shift premium - additional $3.50 per hour between 1900hr-0700hr
Weekend shift premium - additional $2.50 per hour between 2400hr (midnight) Friday - 2400hr (midnight) Sunday
Shift premiums compound- additional $6.00 per hour between 1900hr-0700hr from 2400hr (midnight) Friday - 2400hr (midnight) Sunday

Indirect Compensation
Retention Bonus of $3,000 after 1 year return of service requirement and $10,000 after 2nd -year return of service and productive hour requirement

Qualifications

1. Education and experience
A diploma or degree in nursing and registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a registered nurse (RN) or registered psychiatric nurse (RPN)
Completion of UBC CPD Addiction Care and Treatment Online Course
3-5 years of experience working in addictions/substance use treatment field (preferred)
Training and experience providing evidence-based responses to alcohol use disorder, substance use disorder and concurrent disorder.
Experience working within or leading facility-based/residential services

Integrates best practice from nursing and other health-related disciplines and the humanities, arts and sciences disciplines into professional practice.
Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the participants, families, the public, medical staff and the members of the interdisciplinary team using oral, written and computer communication means.
Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve effectively.
Teaching: Ability to transmit information intended to instruct clinicians and others about topics essential to clinical practice.
Demonstrated knowledge of clinical practices, standards, and current trends in Recovery & Addiction treatment and care.
Ability to operate related equipment including proven ability to utilize computer technology.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

3. Other Requirements
Valid B.C. driver's license and use of a reliable vehicle
