About the Role
The Clinical Supervisor will:
Provide direct supervision of provisional psychologists to assist them in gaining supervised hours with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
In collaboration with supervisees, support the development of supervision plans, oversee the therapists' development and implementation of mental health assessment and therapeutic treatment plans, and complete the appropriate documentation to support the supervisees' registration with CAP.
Identify core skills within the therapeutic stages to support the delivery of high-quality clinical service, and support supervisees' strengths while encouraging the use of new or different skills and interventions.
Assess and problem-solve factors that may impact the clinical supervision relationship, and work with supervisees in a manner of trust and safety to help process these factors.
Ensure a holistic and high-quality model of assessment and treatment planning that is family-centred, trauma-informed and inclusive of biological, psychological, social and cultural factors for patients and their families.
Follow organizational policy and practice regarding admission, discharge and maintenance of health records.
Adhere to the standards of supervision practice and the CAP code of ethics.
Incorporate evidence-informed, best practice models into clinical practice, and ensures clinical care remains consistent with CASA policies and procedures.
Report to the Senior Manager, Clinical Practice.
Qualifications
Graduate degree with a major in psychology.
Member in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
Status as an approved supervisor in good standing is required.
Five or more years of experience delivering child and/or adolescent mental health service is required.
Knowledge and experience supporting the healing of children and youth who have experienced trauma.
Knowledge and experience in therapeutic modalities for treating children and youth.
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required.
