Join our growing team of health care professionals who are embarking on a mission to serve communities in new and sustainable ways and practice meaningful healthcare.
Our Practice
Aroga Lifestyle Medicine is a collaborative, patient-centered healthcare organization serving patients in British Columbia and Ontario. Our core team includes Specialist Physicians, Family Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, along with Allied Health Professionals and Health Coaches. Our team is passionate about optimizing health and wellness through the latest evidence-based research and genuine quality patient care.
Aroga's foundation is firmly built on the bedrock of whole-person care and is reflected in its approach, clinical practices, and patient programs. Based on the principle that every human, given the right tools, support and knowledge, can be empowered to optimize their health and happiness, Aroga's mission is to truly heal and inspire individuals, families and communities.
Our Culture
We anchor our work with a focus on our Aroga community: our incredible patients and team.
In the context of best practices in competence, professionalism and health care standards, the culture we strive for is openness, inclusivity, kindness and care, where everyone understands how they contribute to Aroga's mission and vision, feels empowered, and has mechanisms to provide input and feedback to the organization. We value our people and understand that work/life balance, flexibility, and a supportive environment are essential for our staff to flourish and work optimally.
The Role
We are looking for experienced Nurse Practitioners who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care to the highest standards with a focus on creating meaningful connections. This requires a drive to continually grow-both personally and professionally-and a passion for working in collaboration with others. If these values speak to you, keep reading.
You will be an integral part of the Infinity Care Program which provides our members individualized care rooted in lifestyle medicine. This subscription-based model allows us to offer unrushed appointments, lifestyle medicine health assessments, and the opportunity to navigate and guide clients to realize their vision of optimal health and wellness. You will work alongside dietitians and counselors as you collectively support members with their health goals. We aim to improve both clinical outcomes and the quality of patients' lives, with a vision that sees beyond the constraints of conventional "sick-care" and aspires to transform it into true healthcare.
Job role details:
Comprehensive Health Assessments; developing individualized health plans centred on nutrition, exercise, mental well-being, sleep, and targeted interventions for patients
Coordinating appropriate diagnostic tests and procedures independently and/or in consultation with family physicians
Making internal and external referrals as appropriate
Critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices and evidence-based treatment options
Ordering laboratory tests, diagnosis, prescribing medications, procedures, and patient management as needed
Participating as a clinical team member for complex and specialized care, including prenatal care, chronic disease, child and young adult health and wellness, end of life care
Participate in networking, conferences and delivery of presentations as an ambassador of Aroga
The Opportunity
We have developed a unique and highly professionally satisfying practice grounded in evidence-based lifestyle medicine with a focus on treating, reversing disease and optimizing overall health and wellbeing.
Your patient appointments will be based on how much time you need with your patients to allow greater connection and care, rather than dictated by appointment targets.
Patient roster size is capped mindfully to ensure you have a sustainable and meaningful practice and to allow your patients to see you _when they need to see you_.
Work with patients in-clinic and also virtually
You will be part of a community of dedicated professionals driven by innovation and a shared commitment to excellence; creating a close-knit, innovative and collegial culture.
Collaboration, communication and teamwork are essential; you will be supported by a full team of practitioners providing guidance, consultations and mentorship.
We encourage and support our team members to continue to learn, grow and teach through their local school and take part and research in their speciality area.
You will have a consistent schedule where your weekends and evenings are yours to connect with the people and places that inspire you.
We will support your overall wellness with funding for continuing medical education, a Health Spending Account and paid time off.
