_ Position Summary _

The Youth Recovery House RN/RPN acts as the first point of professional contact between Withdrawal Management Services, Transition Services and potential participants. This position works directly with participants, their families and referral sources to determine the care needs, medical history, physical and mental state and any unique circumstances affecting the care requirements of program participants. The RN/RPN is responsible for booking participant intakes, coordinating care requirements during their stay. This position works closely with the Clinical Nurse Manager in providing ongoing clinical & program supervision and performance coaching, contributing to the evaluation of all program employees, and participates in a variety of agency initiatives as well as community and agency committees.

As a RN/RPN, you will have numerous opportunities to further the professional development of your leadership and clinical skills. The Recovery and Addictions Clinical Nursing Manager will work with you to determine what you are passionate about in this role and will support you in creating an educational roadmap outlining how your clinical, leadership and educational development will translate into program excellence for the participants, employees, and the organization.

_ Position: Temporary Part Time Until return of incumbent- 24 hours a week Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays _as well as 1 on-call shift per-week.

Compensation- $41.41 - 49.44 per hour with additional on-call compensation for on-call hours

Indirect Compensation:
Extended Health and Dental benefits and Flexible Spending account after the 3 month probationary period if contracted for 24 hours per week.

3 weeks vacation which increases with length of service

Professional development & education reimbursement opportunities

_ Qualifications _

Education and experience
A diploma or a degree in nursing and registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a registered nurse (RN) or registered psychiatric nurse (RPN)
1-2 years of experience working in addiction and mental health (preferred)
Previous program coordination experience (preferred)

Job skills and abilities
Demonstrated experience and well developed skills in the delivery of telephone assessment and referral services to individuals, families and communities with diverse and complex cultural, emotional and social needs
Ability to relate well to staff and clients
Able to provide culturally competent services through recognition of the similarities and differences in values, norms and customs of persons served that vary by ethnicity, gender, religion and sexual orientation
Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering resource information to inquirers.
