Job Overview

Duties:

- Perform dental cleanings to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth

- Take dental x-rays and assist with other diagnostic procedures as needed

- Conduct thorough oral examinations to assess the overall oral health of patients

- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide personalized recommendations for maintaining good oral health

- Administer local anesthesia and apply fluoride treatments as necessary

- Assist the dentist during procedures by handing them instruments and ensuring patient comfort

- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical documentation and treatment plans

- Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff

- Stay up to date with advancements in dental technology and techniques

Qualifications:

- Valid Dental Hygiene license in Ontario

- Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program

- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, oral health conditions, and treatment options

- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques and procedures

- Experience working in a dental office setting preferred

- Familiarity with CAD software, medical imaging systems, and patient assessment tools is a plus

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients on oral health practices

- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records

- Commitment to following infection control protocols and maintaining a safe working environment

Weekends as needed

Licence/Certification:
Dental Hygienist License (preferred)
