Job Title: Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Location: Vancouver, British Columbia

Hours: 40 hrs/wk in Clinic with flexibility to work from home approx 20%
Schedule: Flexible, Day shifts only, no evenings or weekend
Remuneration: starting $125/hr- $160hr based on years of experience.

Overview:
We are seeking a Full Time Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a passion for primary care to join our client's busy team. You will work in collaboration with patients, families and other health care providers in the provision of high-quality patient-centered care. The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong clinical background and will practice to full scope of practice as outlined in the Standards of Practice by the College of Nurses of British Columbia. This is an in-person role and as such requires the NP to be present in the office.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

Provide exceptional, safe, high quality, and evidence-informed preventative primary care through assessment, ordering diagnostic tests, performing procedures, prescribing pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, and initiating specialist referrals

Provide regular patient follow up to promote health and educate on disease prevention and management

Collaborate with other nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physicians and the allied health team members to foster a team-based, interdisciplinary approach

Practice to full scope by assessing, diagnosing, and treating episodic and chronic conditions while supporting patients through the healthcare journey

Contribute to care plans, determining the cadence of clinically appropriate assessments within the team to meet individual needs of patients

Make internal and external referrals as appropriate

What you must have:

Masters of Nursing - Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree (MN-NP), or equivalent, post-Master's diploma - Nurse Practitioner (PMD)

Current registration as a practicing Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College or Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)

Successful completion of the OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination)

Active, unrestricted provincial license(s) with required prescribing and/or lab numbers

Active CPR AED Level C certification

Knowledge and experience in primary care, 5+ years of experience preferred

Experience in chronic disease prevention and management preferred

Additional training in primary care procedures relevant to practice is an asset

Ability to take initiative and demonstrate proactive/preventative care

Exceptional organizational skills, with a positive and results-focused attitude

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and patients
