Plains is currently looking to fill the position of Maintenance Planner for our PPTC assets situated throughout Saskatchewan and Manitoba. In this role, you will be based out of Regina and will work with our Electrical & Instrumentation, Mechanical, Engineering, Construction, and Operations personnel. You will report to the Team Lead, Maintenance Planning & Scheduling with responsibility for ensuring the efficient, effective planning and scheduling of short- and long-term maintenance activities. Your planning and scheduling duties will include regular maintenance, asset integrity, capital, and major maintenance / turnaround projects. If you have less than five years planning experience, this is not the role for you.

Permanent residency within 100 km of the Plains' Regina office is a condition of employment and preference will be given to local candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed work plans and complete procurement as assigned or required for turnarounds, integrity projects, and corrective and preventative maintenance in accordance with the scope of work, company policies and procedures, OEM recommendations, and industry best practices as well as manpower, equipment, and outside service requirements.
  • Follow existing work execution management process (WEMP) processes.
  • Remain aware of advances in field and look for ways to add value to the business.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities and materials are captured and reported in Maximo.
  • Ensure maintenance schedule is accurate and efficient and follows scheduling processes.
  • Maintain an accurate and prioritized log of maintenance activities.
  • Take initiative for own development and improvement and persistently try to improve individual performance.
  • Coordinate with Electrical & Instrumentation, Mechanical, Engineering, Construction, and Operations to assemble work packages and assist in preparation for scheduling work.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of different perspectives and a willingness to share knowledge and ideas, and provide a helping hand as needed.
  • Assist with the monitoring and tracking of maintenance key performance indicators (KPIs) and work with stakeholders to act when KPIs are outside of target ranges.
  • Focus on producing results, taking ownership of mistakes or limitation of experience.
  • Ensure continuous improvement through the management and development of the job plan library.
  • Assist with building good working / customer relationships with contractors and service providers.
  • Assure master data management through applicable processes such as Management of Change (MoC).
  • Cover for schedulers and supervisors and execute emergency response procedures as required.

Qualifications:

  • Certified interprovincial journeyman trade certification in a Plains-relevant trade
  • 10+ years' experience performing preventative maintenance in an industrial setting preferred
  • 5+ years' experience in a planning role
  • Shutdown / turnaround experience an asset
  • Knowledge of Maximo, Prometheus, or other relevant computerized maintenance management system with a background in reliability centered maintenance considered an asset
  • Demonstrated computer knowledge with experience in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Goal oriented self-starter with excellent time management and communication skills
  • Able to lead by example and positively influence a variety of individuals in a busy field environment
  • Capable of productive and positive interpersonal interactions in all circumstances
  • Permanent residence within 100 km of Regina
  • Valid driver's license with a clean abstract
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
  • Compliance with the Company's drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing
