The Clinical Managers of the Acute Assessment and Sans Souci Programs are currently seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to be split between both programs. The purpose of the position is to plan, implement, evaluate and monitor Occupational Therapy (O.T.) services for an assigned caseload of patients as a member of an inter-professional team and to provide training, educational and consultative services to staff, students, community and educational institutions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Assessing the level of functional independence and occupational performance issues of patients
Collaborating with patients and their families to determine appropriate treatment goals and objectives, as well as contributing to collaborative treatment plans, utilizing Occupational Therapy best practice initiatives.
Implementing Occupational Therapy interventions on an individual basis and/or in group settings including modification and/or termination of treatment plans when appropriate
Documenting assessment results, evaluations, patient progress, clinical summaries, etc. according to College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and Waypoint standards.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario in good standing
Preference for recent and related experience working as an Occupational Therapist
Preference for recent and related experience in mental health and/or community setting
Preference for experience with the autism spectrum/dual diagnosis patient population
Demonstrated knowledge of Occupational Therapy theory, best practices, principles and treatment techniques for clients with serious mental illness
Proven success with essential competencies of Occupational Therapy practice
ADP Authorizer considered an asset
Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Office Suite
Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results
Demonstrated leadership, conflict resolution, interpersonal and organizational skills
Proven written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to adapt readily to change
Models and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values, and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude
Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills
