We are seeking an experienced Reliability and Maintenance Engineer to join our team. This critical role involves developing and implementing asset maintenance strategies, conducting root cause analysis, creating risk mitigation plans, and optimizing preventative maintenance processes to minimize lifecycle costs. You will also support the loss elimination process and ensure the successful integration of these strategies into Bentley APM.

This position is based at the Blind River site, with regular travel required to meet operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize asset strategies to improve equipment availability using reliability methodologies.
  • Lead the loss elimination program at Blind River, identifying bad actors and reducing their impact on operations.
  • Perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) on various equipment, systems, and processes to resolve recurring or major failures.
  • Oversee the reliability aspects of capital projects, ensuring that equipment design and selection align with long-term reliability goals.
  • Collaborate with reliability engineers and process owners to develop and implement programs and procedures that support organizational reliability objectives.
  • Work closely with on-site teams, including operators, tradespersons, superintendents, managers, and other engineers, to deliver effective solutions and improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical).
  • Professional Engineer (P. Eng) designation.
  • A minimum of 7 years of progressive industrial engineering experience, with several years focused on reliability engineering.
  • Experience with reliability engineering principles such as RCM, RCA, FMEA, FTA, RBD, CA, and LCCA.
  • Willingness to travel to site regularly.
  • Knowledge of SAP or Bentley AssetWise APM software.
  • Expertise in reliability techniques such as RCA, FMEA, RBD, FTA, MTA, RCM, PM, CA, Pd.M., or LCC.
  • Familiarity with AWB Reliability Modelling Software.
  • Strong background in Weibull/Crow-AMSAA Analysis, system modeling, or optimization of asset lifecycle decisions.
  • Continuous Improvement certification (Lean Six Sigma Green Belt).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management, analytical abilities, and technical writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
