In this role, your time will be split between working on 2025 Grey Cup Festival and Winnipeg Blue Bombers creative to successfully convey the brands by assessing needs, conceptualizing, designing, developing and presenting internal and external advertising creative, corporate partnership creative, brand marketing creative, sales campaign creative, and stadium marketing creative. You will work collaboratively with multiple internal clients including partnerships, ticket operations, community, sales and services. You will report directly to the Creative Director. Term ends November 2025.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- You are responsible for design conception and layout for print and digital graphic artwork within the WFC, specifically supporting sales, service, partnerships, marketing, community, in-stadium, and ticket operations departments
- Develop and maintain a workflow master plan. With relevant project teams, establish projects, goals and priorities. Have awareness of the impact that your work may have on your own and other ongoing projects
- Brainstorm, develop and conceptualize new innovative ideas to contribute toward dynamic campaign initiatives while maintaining brand integrity
- Execute graphic design projects including but not limited to; sales collateral, advertisement campaigns, in-stadium graphics, digital ads, season tickets projects, packaging, logo design, and presentation decks for partnerships and marketing departments
- Work efficiently alongside other print, video and animation creatives as part of an internal creative team
- Generate expert-level knowledge of competitive and complementary solutions and bring new ideas to the team. Work to nurture expertise within the creative department
- Prepare appropriate files for printers and vendors
- Maintaining webpage content
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities
- A Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design with a displayed interest in branding and advertising specific to the sports or entertainment industries or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years proven graphic design experience
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS and WordPress is an asset
- Understanding of web design standards, responsive design and UI/UX principles
- Working knowledge of print production and retouching process
- Demonstrate advanced skills in using graphic design software in a MAC environment
- You are required to have skills and abilities in the following areas:
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe InDesign
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
- Present self in professional manner and have ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts
- Possess creative versatility, conceptual/visual ability and originality
- Ability to prioritize work activities, use time efficiently and be highly organized
- Possess excellent communication skills, including written and verbal, and have the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely
- Strong ability to turn abstract concepts and messages into compelling visual storytelling
- Proven ability to adapt to change in the work environment; capable of balancing multiple demands, projects, and changes simultaneously
- Willing to work extended hours including nights, weekends, holidays and all game days
- Photography and/or motion design experience a plus
- Knowledge of football and sports; knowledge of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers a plus
