Position Overview

The Estimating Manager at Rising Edge Group plays a critical role in overseeing the Estimating department, ensuring that all estimates are accurate, comprehensive, and delivered on time. This role requires a blend of leadership, technical expertise, and exceptional communication skills. The Estimating Manager is responsible for the overall function of the department, including but not limited to resource loading, process development and implementation, and the development of the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Estimating Department, assess departmental needs including coaching, developing staff and performance reviews.
  • Continually improve, manage, follow and implement departmental procedures, methods and processes as directed by the Director of Pre-Construction, support continual improvement as required.
  • Lead and manage project estimates, proposals, and prequalification's accuracy and efficiency of the group
  • Foster and nurture strong inter-departmental relationships, facilitating open communication and collaboration among various teams. By promoting a cohesive organizational culture, we aim to enhance teamwork, encourage information sharing, and ensure that all departments work harmoniously towards common goals.
  • Ensure adherence to and compliance with the established Risk Management process, which is essential for identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks that could impact our organization's objectives. This includes actively participating in risk assessments, documenting findings, and implementing recommended strategies to manage risks effectively.

Requirements

  • Post secondary degree in Engineering, Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field required
  • At least seven (7) years of cost engineering experience
  • Must have at least ten (10) years of field experience in High Voltage industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
  • Excellent team management skills required
  • Extensive experience in bidding engineering and construction projects
  • Highly proficient in InEight Estimate and Microsoft Office Suite programs, including MS Project
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Ability to interpret contracts
