About the role:
We are looking for a self-motivated and energetic Bilingual Credit Risk Specialist to join our Risk Management Department. Your responsibilities in this role will include assessing new and active merchant partners in Canada on Financeit partner onboarding and risk monitoring policies, ensuring credit and fraud related risks are minimized and policies and controls are adhered to.
You will have a proven track record as an individual with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced and changing environment.
What you'll do:
- Assess potential new merchant partners within the Canadian market, reviewing company and business owner/director information to evaluate credit quality and performance in line with Financeit's onboarding guidelines.
- Monitor and evaluate existing merchant partners' behavior and adherence to Financeit's processes, including credit quality, performance, fraud risk, AML risk, and compliance with Financeit's consumer lending program parameters.
- Demonstrate strong credit evaluation and analytical skills, with expertise in assessing commercial and personal credit bureau reports, financial statements, and overall financial performance.
- Conduct post-funding borrower satisfaction calls to verify merchant adherence to Financeit's lending program requirements and supporting processes.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on the merchant network, as assigned.
- Continuously assess existing processes and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bilingualism in French is required.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in consumer financing or a related field.
- Strong credit evaluation and analytical skills, with familiarity in analyzing both commercial and consumer credit bureau reports.
- Intermediate knowledge of financial statements and cash flow analysis, including key financial ratio calculations.
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related discipline.
- Excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a self-directed, team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
- Adaptable with the ability to multi-task and adjust priorities quickly.
