The Role
Neo Financial is looking for a full-time Junior Infrastructure Developer to join our team in Calgary, AB.

A great Junior Infrastructure Developer at Neo Financial has a passion for technology and thrives in a dynamic environment. You'll work in a supportive setting with challenges that allow you to contribute across multiple domains such as IT operations, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps optimization. We're looking for hungry, early career talent who are looking to gain real-world experience across a wide range of technical disciplines. Our infrastructure team is composed of problem-solvers and self-starters, who excel in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment. You'll collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry to ensure our systems and technologies run smoothly, so we can continue to deliver transformative services and products.

Please Note: For those candidates selected to interview, we will be hosting an in-person speed interview day on October 17th in downtown Calgary.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Learning the ropes of cloud technologies across cloud platforms, particularly AWS
• Working within our Terraform codebase to make enhancements to modules and ensure best practices are being followed across the board
• Shadowing teammates on-call (and during production incidents if they occur), and helping us harden our systems after something goes wrong
• Working on initiatives to control vendor costs by identifying and eliminating waste and redundancy
• Helping to configure new SaaS applications and supporting existing ones
• Assisting cybersecurity colleagues with configuring and maintaining security systems, and helping to keep systems patched and free of misconfigurations
• Writing high-quality documentation for applications, standards, and processes, leaving things better than when you found them
• Collaborating with stakeholders from across Neo to ensure secure, reliable, and scalable technology is available to everyone.

Who We're Looking For:

• Recent graduates with a 4-year Bachelor's degree or a 2-year Diploma from a recognized technical institution in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity
• 0-2 years of relevant experience in areas like IT, infrastructure, or cloud technology, with a preference for candidates who have completed an Internship or Co-op
• Demonstrated passion for technology through side projects or hobbies involving technical work, such as setting up home servers, contributing to open-source projects, or building personal cloud infrastructure.

• Some experience with a cloud platform (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or others) through personal projects, internships, or coursework, and a hunger to learn more.
• A knack for troubleshooting technology-related issues. When your family's WiFi stops working, you're their first call!
• Some experience with common software development tools like Git and Docker, and familiarity working with a Linux-style command line interface.
