POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for overall applied technical product support as assigned. This includes acceptance and in-field service for bus deliveries to our customers, including implementation of company policies, assisting in warranty situations, completing retrofits, training, gathering product failure information, training and general customer liaison. Reports to RPSM, RPSM Team Lead and Regional Director.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Understands and uses the New Flyer core values when working inside and outside the New Flyer organization.
- Understands and follows Respectful Workplace rules.
- Follow all applicable laws, arrive for assignments on time and follow all New Flyer travel policies
- Follow all W/O System (OFSC & Mobility) procedures and policies such as clocking work, writing repair notes.
- Travel to work site locations assigned by RPSM.
- Complete training assigned by RPSM.
- Maintain a toolset sufficient to do repair work on New Flyer buses. (wrench sizes up to and including 1", etc.).
- Troubleshoot and repair all OEM systems as assigned by RPSM.
- Assist suppliers in troubleshooting assigned by RPSM.
- Perform retrofit work assigned by the RPSM.
- Operate and maintain service vehicle if provided.
- Organize and lead retrofit crews as assigned by RPSM.
- Communicate the status of assignments daily through text or e-mail to Regional Director, RPSM Team Lead and RPSM.
- Act as interim site manager during an RPSM absence as assigned by RPSM or RPSM team lead.
- Report all issues affecting New Flyer product or business to the RPSM.
- Maintain tracking documents as assigned by RPSM.
- Review iBus website regularly.
- Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- High School, Trade School or equivalent.
- 5 years' work experience or equivalent.
- Diagnostic tools, hand tools.
- Transit bus electrical, mechanical, air system, hydraulic systems, HVAC systems, CAN/J1939, 608 certification, ASE transit certifications, CDL license.
- Must be able to perform workman/mechanic duties.
