POSITION SUMMARY

As a key member of the paint shop team, this position will be responsible for a variety of painting functions including spraying, mixing, polishing, and operating painting equipment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Responsible for painting, decanting, verification, stocking, and finish painting.
  • Review and interpret blueprints to identify proper paint colors and areas of application.
  • Complete minor fibreglass repairs.
  • Mix Axalta paint using activator and primer.
  • Spray paint on large areas using a 1-quart gravity feed spray gun and/or a 2-quart siphon feed spray gun.
  • Maintain spray guns and painting equipment through proper cleaning procedures.
  • Utilize painting techniques to achieve desired results.
  • Adhere to safety procedures as they apply to all equipment used in this position.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Previous automotive painting experience is required.
  • Proven experience reading and interpreting blueprints to identify proper paint areas and colors.
  • Exceptional knowledge of all preparatory work, paint and priming sequences and procedures.
  • Have great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, precision, and accuracy.
  • Prior experience with Axalta paints considered an asset.
