POSITION SUMMARY
To carry out the duties of a Truck and Coach technician as directed by the Service Centre Manager.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Must be able to work unsupervised in the repair and maintenance of Heavy duty Transit Buses.
- Must be proficient in the use of all required mechanical, air and hydraulic tools.
- Must understand the requirement for safe working practices within a busy mechanical shop and the use of personal safety equipment.
- A good understanding on the use of computers for diagnostics is beneficial.
- Must have the ability to follow parts and service manuals instructions.
- Physically perform all tasks associated with his/her discipline for whatever the shop needs are at the time.
- Support the shop's lean manufacturing initiatives with roll outs and recommendations for improvements.
- Must be able to work independently or as a team member.
- Assist with accurate ordering of parts and materials required for repairs.
- Forklift operation.
- Other duties as required.
- Welding and machining would be an advantage.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
- Certified Truck & Coach Technician.
- High School Diploma.
- Good communication skills.
- Knowledge of Computers and Windows.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ozone depletion Certified is an asset.
- Lifting heavy items, bending , kneeling, accessing small areas.
- Climbing ladders and working on bus roofs.
- Forklift
- Wheel Lift Operation
- Air and Hydraulic tools.
- Travel - 10%
