Vericatch is the global leader in catch reporting software that helps fish harvesters efficiently record their fishing activity. We are a proudly Canadian company, based in Vancouver, BC, with offices in Halifax, NS and St. John's, NL.

We are looking to hire two people to help support customers during the rollout of the national electronic logbook (ELOGS) initiatives. ELOGs are the most efficient way for harvesters to ensure the government knows what's happening within the fishery and are replacing the current paper system that fish harvesters have used for decades.

As fishing catch reporting is moving to an entirely online system, Vericatch is hiring two individuals to provide support to fish harvesters using the Vericatch ELOG App.

Required competencies:

  • Comfort using smart devices (phones and tablets).
  • A strong ability to clearly explain different processes, primarily in a step-
  • by-step manner e.g. how to set up an account or update an app.
  • Good listening skills.

Vericatch is a small technology company with big plans and goals. This position offers a candidate a good opportunity to gain experience working in the tech sector as it branches out into the inshore fishery.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Compensation:

  • The position is approximately 37.5 hours per week. Shifts will vary and will include some weekend work. Some shifts may be longer than 8 hours.
  • This is a work-from-home position.
  • Pay is $20-$22 per hour.
  • The position starts at the end of March and continues until the end of June (approximately 3 months)
  • Fluency in French and/or knowledge and connection with the inshore fishery is considered an asset but not essential.
  • Based in Atlantic Canada
  • Able to use your own phone and computer.
