Position Summary

The Project Manager for Database Transformation will be responsible for working closely with the vendor to oversee and manage CPA Atlantic School's student-management database. This role plays a pivotal part in advancing the next phase of the school's data infrastructure project while the current platform is adapted to support an incoming program.

The successful candidate will possess strong project management skills, technical acumen, analytical skills, experience in data governance and management, and the ability to collaborate across functional teams. Problem-solving skills and a commitment to maintaining high data quality standards will be essential for success in this role.

Major Responsibilities

  • Project management: Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of the third phase of the school's student management database project; ensure project milestones, budgets, and deliverables are met while coordinating efforts across internal teams and external vendors.
  • Visionary: Lead and design the next phase of the data infrastructure project, supporting system enhancements and process improvements; oversee data transformation activities, monitor data flow, and design effective data models that align with operational and strategic needs.
  • Vendor liaison: Act as the primary point of contact between the school and external vendors, ensuring project deliverables align with organizational goals and timelines.
  • Support and maintenance: Act as the first point of contact for bugs and fixes required for the management, maintenance, and optimization of the student-management database.
  • Process ownership: Coordinate and manage data-governance processes throughout the enrollment funnel, ensuring seamless data flow from prospecting to membership recommendation; oversee the collection, maintenance, and integrity of the school's key data metrics and statistics.
  • Internal change management: Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure all priorities are being met and are agreed upon; educate internal staff on all database and process changes/upgrades prior to deployment

Key Competencies Required for Selection

  • Strong project management skills, with experience managing data infrastructure projects and continuous process improvement.
  • Proficiency in common business applications, database management, and analytical tools.
  • Experience with education-related applications, including learning management platforms and registration systems.
  • Strong data analysis capabilities with proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team environment.
