Creating a Sense of Home: We are home to 108 residents. At Windsor Elms Village there are three distinct neighbourhoods. Each neighbourhood has four houses of nine residents. With such a diverse group of residents, you will find each house has its own character. At WEV, we strive to create flexibility that mirrors life in the communities and homes our residents have known.


The Manager of Life Enrichment is responsible for supervising and leading the Life Enrichment team by overseeing and leading the Life Enrichment Care Partners, Music Therapist, Chaplain & Volunteers. The Manager oversees the day-to-day operations for the immediate benefit of residents, care partners and visitors while fostering Windsor Elms Village Mission, Vision & Guiding Principles & Principles of the Eden AlternativeTM. The Manager is a key strategic member of the Leadership Team and as such, participates in the overall management of the facility.


Summary of Roles & Responsibilities (Full Job Description available upon request)
• Advocating for the Therapeutic Recreation profession
• Recruit, orientate, supervise & organize volunteers - follow up and on-going communication
• Collaborating and researching for community events - building on our community connectivity.
• Researching grants and other funding sources for therapeutic programs and equipment to enrich the lives of the residents
• Assist with Life Enrichment leisure assessments & assist with tailoring programs to resident needs & goals.
• Support Life enrichment with programs when necessary
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to evaluate and improve program effectiveness.
• Support Therapeutic Recreation student placements
• Lead the organization through the Eden AlternativeTM journey.


Requirements / Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation.
• Previous management experience in a health care setting considered an asset.
• Experience in recruiting, screening, training, placing and evaluating volunteers.
• Experience, creativity and imagination in program planning for the elderly, and with seniors of all levels of physical and mental functioning.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be eligible for (or working towards) membership with the Nova Scotia Therapeutic Recreation Association.
• Certified Eden Associate (or willing to obtain)

Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 Based on Experience
Hours: The regular hours of work for this position are intended to be 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Flex time may be required outside of these hours. Given the scope and responsibility of the role, on-call availability/flexibility may also be a requirement.
Start Date: As soon as possible
