Position Vacancy

Villa Acadienne is a 96-bed long term care facility with a second facility, Villa d'la Baie, which is a 47- bed facility. Both facilities are in Meteghan, Nova Scotia. The Rehabilitation team currently consists of an Occupational Therapist and Rehabilitation Assistant. We are now looking for a Physiotherapist to join our team who will provide services to both sites. We are looking for a Physiotherapist that has a focus on providing resident centered care and a willingness to adopt the Eden Philosophy of care. The physiotherapist would be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating services to residents who present with various impairments, disabilities, or limitations. The Physiotherapist will also be responsible for providing education, in-services, and coaching to staff.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university.
  • Licensed by the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapist
  • Membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association
  • Able to communicate in English and French (an asset)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision.
  • Able to work independently, be self- directed and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with the elderly (an asset).
  • Good time management skills.
  • Experience or willingness to deliver inhouse- services.
  • Computer skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint etc.).
  • Access to a reliable vehicle to travel to both facilities.

HOURS

  • Permanent, 75%, 60 hours biweekly.
  • 8-hour day shifts with flexibility in hours.
