Engineering Student

The Municipality of Tantramar's Engineering and Public Works Department is currently accepting applications for an Engineering Student.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• The Engineering Student will assist department staff in site inspections of capital, operational and maintenance projects.
• Assist the Director and Engineering Technologist on municipal projects, which may involve field survey, field inspection reports, preliminary project design and cost estimates.
• Work with the Municipality's ArcGIS system to develop data base and update records.
• Survey pickup and layouts with the Municipality's Topcon GPS system.
• Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS:

• Preference will be given to Civil Engineering and Civil Technology students who have taken at least one course in surveying and are familiar with CAD, ArcGIS, GIS and other related PC software (CAD, AutoCAD, Microsoft excel, word, etc.)
• Previous construction inspection experience would be an asset.
• Other combinations of education and work experience will be considered.

REQUIRED:

• Criminal record check
• Valid Driver's license
• Candidate will require CSA certified safety boots.
