Type of Employment: Casual Cook
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- A Valid Journeyman Chef License with Inter-Provincial Red Seal or be working towards completing Journeyman papers
- Valid Food Handlers Course (Advanced Certification an asset)
- At least one year experience cooking in a Long-Term Care/Residential Care setting will be considered an asset
- Have an understanding, promote and practice resident-centered care
- Plan and prepare meals according to established standards, procedures, recipes and menus, including preparing special meals to meet appropriate therapeutic menu modifications as needed
- Follow proper sanitation procedures in the handling, preparation and distribution of food
- Demonstrated planning, organizational, prioritization and time management skills
- Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation and ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels of residents, staff, family and volunteers
- Commitment to promoting a culture that supports safety and ethical practice
- Demonstrated commitment to on-going learning and professional development
- Physically capable to perform the duties of the position including, but not limited to:
- Ability to lift/push 35lbs
- Ability to withstand the demands of walking, standing, lifting and bending for the majority of the workday
- Demonstrated record of attending scheduled shifts on consistent basis
- Demonstrated regular attendance in current and past employment
- Available to work all shifts, including weekends, holidays and call-ins

Compensation and Incentives:
- Salary: $ 19.00 - $22.00/hour
- Hours of Work: 0600-1730 hrs
