Job:: Housekeeping and Laundry Aide
Location: Glenburnie
Shift/Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. & 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Laundry: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Wage: $23.85/hr

Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and sanitary environment for Residents, The Housekeeping Aide cleans and disinfects Residents rooms and their shared environment according to all legislative .

Laundry Aide is responsible for providing laundry services to the residents, laundering the Homes linens and assigned laundry of the Paramedic Services.The Laundry Aide cleans and stores Residents and Home linens according to all legislative standards and policies and procedures

Note: In this position new hires will be cross-trained to work in both departments. There is NO PUBLIC transportation

Job Description:
* Demonstrated solid communication skills, both written and verbal and ability to communicate information to a diverse audience base
* Demonstrated commitment to client/resident-centered service/care
* Demonstrated time management and prioritization skills with the ability to function within a fast-paced environment, responding with flexibility to changing priorities
* Basic computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite of products (Outlook) and the ability to use other software applications applicable to the position (e.g. work order software and building automation software)
* Demonstrated understanding and commitment to health and safety policies, procedures and applicable legislation

Requirements:
* Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
* Proof of Education (High School Diploma)
* TB Test valid within 1 year
* Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector Screen valid within 6 months
* Experience in housekeeping/laundry in an industrial or similar setting, an asset
* Periods of time standing and walking
* Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
* Bending, lifting, reaching, carrying, gripping, pushing/pulling required
* Required to work day, evening and/or night shifts
* Possible exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids or other undesirable environmental conditions
