SUMMARY OR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in preparation of commercial real estate transactions.
  • Prepare first draft of opinion letters, revise purchase agreements and read surveys.
  • Researches and analyzes due diligence searches, property surveys, and property title documents, and orders title insurance.
  • Preparation of LRA filings.
  • Preparation of legal documents such as leases, purchase contracts, buy-sell agreements, closing papers and transaction books, deeds, mortgages, statements of adjustments and funds for review and approval by the assigned lawyer.
  • Prepares or fulfills requirements of a real estate closing statement and assists in closing process, including management of closing funds and payouts, and preparation of post-closing reports.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years of experience as a property paralegal
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial real estate transactions and related laws
  • Ability to draft and review legal documents, such as purchase agreements, leases, and title documents
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in using legal software and document management systems
  • A diploma in paralegal studies or a related field is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
