Translator and Policy Writer (French/English)

Eclipse Stores Inc. is a woman's clothing retailer with over 80 stores across Canada. We are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual to fill the position of Policy Writer and Translator (English/French) at our Head Office in St. John's, Newfoundland.

We are looking for an individual with an aptitude for writing and translating to be a member of our Head Office team. The successful candidate will have strong writing skills in English and the ability to translate into French.

Responsibilities:

- Write company policies, manuals, memos and other communications.

- Develop training materials including software manuals.

- Research and develop human resources policies.

- Translate all Head Office communications and manuals for French-speaking stores and other documents as required.

- Translate Marketing and Social Media content.

- Proof-read translations for Shopify Website.

- Communicate with French-speaking employees and customers via phone and email.

- Administrative duties for French-language stores.

Qualifications:

- College or University degree in an applicable discipline.

- Completely bilingual and comfortable writing, reading and speaking in both French and English.

- Ability to translate from English to French and French to English at a high-quality level for an external audience.

- An understanding of translation and proof-reading functions.

- Familiar with AI tools to aid in writing and translation.

- An interest in fashion and knowledge of fashion vocabulary is an asset.

- Excellent communication and organization skills.

- Ability to work well with a team.

- Retail experience would be an asset.
