Our work is done in collaboration with public, private and not-for-profit partners.

Partners for Youth is seeking a fulltime housing specialist to support youth as they navagate the provincal rent bank system. Partners for Youth has collaborated with Housing New Brunswick in order to help youth who are seeking support from the Provincial Rent Bank . The Rent Bank is intended to help people who are experiencing a temporary and unplanned financial crisis that has impacted their ability to pay their rent, utilities or entering into a new rental property. The program is intended to prevent homelessness, so if people have received an eviction notice, they may be eligible for the program. The grant can provide up to $2,750 or the equivalent of two months' rent, whichever is the less amount. The program is intended for people 19 and older and youth who have been emancipated and or part of the Youth Engagement Services (YES) program are also eligible. The grant is available once every 24 months. The program can help to assist with rent arrears, utilities, damage deposit or first months rent. This partnership helps provide comprehensive wrap-around supports for youth facing rent and housing insecurity. This program is intended to help young people access other supports and services such as referring them to budget counselling, financial literacy workshops, housing supports, employment support and helping to navigate other barriers that are impacting their ability to afford their basic needs. This program also provides youth a safe and neutral setting to share their personal stories that has impacted their ability to afford their rent or basic needs. PFY also facilitates and advocates on behalf of applicants for this program.
