Job Title: Tire Technician
Location: Dartmouth,NS
Shift/Hours: Two weeks of days then two weeks of nights
Pay Rate: $20.00/hr $ 23.00/hr
Assignment Information:
We are looking for a Tire Technician to join our client.
You will perform maintenance and repair services on different types of vehicles.
You'll work under close supervision, often with the help of more experienced technicians, and your tasks will be assigned by shop management to help you grow in your role.
Job Responsibilities:
Vehicle Maintenance and Repairs
Perform standard maintenance and inspections
Conduct preventive maintenance
Diagnose and fix mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic tools
Replace defective parts as needed Documentation and Customer Interaction
Use the shop management system and electronic documentation
Talk to customers/drivers to understand their complaints
Facility Maintenance: Perform general maintenance duties around the facility
Additional Responsibilities:
Tire and Wheel Maintenance:
Check tire air pressure and tread depth Replace tires and wheels as needed
Preventive Maintenance:
Learn proper lubrication, tire inspection, brake checks, battery checks, and identifying faults within 90 days
Brake Maintenance:
Learn to inspect and maintain hydraulic and air brake systems within 90 days
Air Conditioning and Heating:
Electrical Systems:
Inspect and clean batteries, check belts, and replace defective parts
Lighting and Accessories:
Repair minor wiring issues and replace light assemblies and accessories
Clutch and Cooling Systems:
Lubricate and adjust clutches, check and repair cooling systems
Drive Axles and Drivelines:
Inspect and maintain drive axles and lubricate drivelines
Engine and Fuel Systems:
Check and adjust oil levels, replace fuel filters, and inspect fuel systems
Steering, Suspension, and Vehicle Coupling:
Inspect and repair steering components, suspension, and vehicle coupling systems
Skills and Abilities:
Reliable and thorough
Requirements:
Able to work shifts and weekends as needed
Good at understanding and following instructions
Strong communication skills
Good mechanical skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Flexible and organized, with good time management skills
Detail-oriented
Basic computer skills
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED preferred
Vocational or technical certification preferred
Basic tools required
Experience in automotive gas or diesel engine repair preferred
Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
Travel: Safety Sensitive Non-Regulated Tech DOT
