About the Workers' Compensation Board of Nova Scotia

WCB is the province's provider of workplace injury insurance. We inform and inspire Nova Scotians in the prevention of workplace injury, but if it occurs, we support those whose lives it touches by championing a timely return to safe and healthy work. We also provide caring, compassionate support in the wake of workplace tragedy.

About the Role
The Financial Analyst provides financial analyses, compilation, evaluation and reporting capacity providing timely and useful expenditure information, as well as developing financial modelling programs/systems and projects.

Work as a Financial Analyst involves professional accounting responsibilities crossing a broad range of work. Activities include the development, maintenance, monitoring and reporting of the administrative budget for WCB; formulation and/or analysis of various budgets relating to projects and new cost centres; providing financial advice to other managers throughout the WCB; the preparation of administrative expenses for interim and annual audited financial statements.

Your Experience & Skills

  • A university degree in Business with a major in finance or accounting, and a professional accounting designation, or working toward designation.
  • Two years' experience in an accounting/financial environment.
  • Experience working in a team or team-like environment would be an asset.

We offer a competitive compensation package ranging from $66,387 - $82,985.
