Jump Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join the team at O'Neill Auto Group in Mount Pearl, NL.
O'Neill Auto Group is Canada's largest Nissan dealer group with three locations within the province. Accompanied by brands like Jaguar, Land Rover, Volvo, Infiniti, and Acura, the O'Neill Auto Group, a family-owned and operated business is also Newfoundland and Labrador's largest luxury vehicle retailer.
The Role:
As the Assistant Controller, you will report directly to the Controller and play a crucial role in overseeing various accounting and financial operations across the dealership group. You will be responsible for maintaining financial integrity, ensuring compliance with industry standards and government regulations, and supporting the dealership's overall financial health.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Compliance & Auditing
- Cash & Payroll Management
- Team Supervision & Support
- Assist with other tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Preferred: CPA designation (or in progress)
- Minimum 5 years of senior accounting experience, preferably in the automotive industry
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (CDK or similar)
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Leadership experience with the capacity to train junior staff
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance
