About RMHC Atlantic:
Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Atlantic is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the health and well-being of children and their families. We provide a caring and supportive environment for families who must travel to receive medical treatment for their children. RMHC Atlantic operates several key programs, including Ronald McDonald House and two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms, serving families across the Maritimes.

About the Role:

RMHC Atlantic is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative and Communications Assistant to support the efficient operation of the organization. This role will provide essential administrative, office support, and communications assistance across all teams. The successful candidate will also play a key role in event coordination and general office management.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative and Office Support:

  • Provide administrative assistance to the CEO, the front desk of the house and other team members as required.
  • Manage office supplies to ensure a well-organized and efficient office environment.
  • Assist in scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and organizing meetings.
  • Perform general office tasks such as data entry, document preparation, filing, and assisting with the Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) for the new house.
  • Update and maintain the donor database following interactions with supporters.
  • Undertake additional tasks as required to contribute to the overall success and smooth functioning of RMHC Atlantic's programs and initiatives.

Communication Support:

  • Assist in the development and execution of internal and external communications, including social media updates, newsletters, and promotional content.
  • Maintain and update the organization's website, ensuring accurate and timely content.
  • Provide support in creating and maintaining communication templates and materials.

Event Support:

  • Collaborate and execute fundraising events, such as the annual golf tournament, McHappy Day, and PJ Walk.
  • Coordinate event logistics, manage event materials, and provide on-site support during events.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, commitee volunteers, and participants to ensure successful event execution.
  • Steward donors, participants, and sponsors after events by providing follow-up communications and acknowledgment.
  • Assist in developing and coordinating event-related content, including signage, printing, promotional schedules, and updating event websites.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience prefered
  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • Previous experience in event management, administration, or communication support.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with basic graphic design tools is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
  • A team-oriented individual with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • A willingness to take on diverse responsibilities and contribute to a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Hours of Work:

Full time, In-person ; 40 hours per week with flexible start and end times; Potential for a hybrid work arrangement

Flexibility in hours is required for events and commitee meetings
