Shop Service Technician

Purpose

• To conduct fire extinguisher, fire suppression and related Safety equipment testing, refilling and service/repairs through effective planning and efficient execution.
• To ensure at all times that safety, reliability and technical excellence are the key drivers supporting the safety service.

Main responsibilities

• Conduct fire extinguisher hydro-testing (low pressure and high pressure), recharging and repairs as required
• Conduct fire suppression system cylinders hydro-testing and re-filling
• Condemn and dispose of fire extinguishers, fire suppression system cylinders as required
• Conduct hydro-testing of Air Cylinders
• Refill of High Pressure CO2 cylinders life raft cylinders
• All inspections and service work is carried out according to the company's safety standards, job procedures and safe work practices
• Communicating technical deficiencies or improvement notices, and assisting service coordinator with follow up, and corrective actions as necessary
• Ensure applicable supporting documentation is complete for shop inspection/orders i.e shop requisitions, service reports etc
• Create Service Tickets on our ERP system for shop customers
• Take POS Payments for walk-in/COD Customers
• Perform Monthly Inspections of Shop/Safety Equipment as per our Inspection Checklist
• Measure key performance indicators for shop service processes

• Good command of the English language (spoken and written)
