Atlantic Community Shelters Society
SHELTER SUPERVISOR
About Atlantic Community Shelter Society
Atlantic Community Shelters Society (ACSS) is a not for profit organization funded by the Department of Community Services and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. ACSS is a new enterprise that Quest Society has undertaken in response to an urgent need to address homelessness within the Halifax Regional Municipality.
ACSS will specifically cater to seniors who are experiencing homelessness. Temporary pallet housing solutions will be offered to individuals to provide protection, safety and security. This approach allows the basic needs of individuals to be met while more permanent housing solution opportunities are identified. Every person living at ACSS will have individual plans to identify their unique challenges and needs and a solution-oriented approach to overcome the barriers that prevent them from securing permanent housing.

The Shelter Supervisor will report directly to the Intensive Housing Support Case Manager and will be responsible for the day to day safety and security, supervision, problem-solving and general operations of ACSS. This further includes the organization, supervision and performance management of all employees and volunteers.
