Salary Range: $50,532 - $65,688 per annum

YOUR FOCUS

Reporting to the Director - Centre for Financial Studies (CFS), the Centre for Financial Services Studies Program Officer provides leadership in fulfilling the Centre's mandate. This involves a mix of administrative responsibilities including the provision of student support in the Student Investment Fund (SIF) program and development activities.

  • Assist in the development of and implementation of experiential activities for participants in the master's in quantitative management (MQIM) program.
  • Liaise with the Financial Services industry to secure a continuous stream of speakers for the SIF course.
  • Assist in marketing the SIF course, the majors, honors and concentration in Financial Services and the Centre.
  • Coordinate efforts with the Development and Donor Relations Office to secure sponsors for the Centre for Financial Studies and for the chaired professorship in Financial Services.
  • Liaise with the Financial Services industry to secure a continuous stream of speakers for the SIF course.
  • Prepare annual report of the Centre for Financial Studies activities and operations.
  • Create and coordinate student trips, and competitive events for the Centre of Financial Studies, along with other events sponsored by the Centre of Financial Studies.
  • Create content for the Faculty of Management's social media presence.
  • Correspond with companies to create internship opportunities for students.
  • Assist with the development of infrastructure such as space, database support, etc.
  • Maintain a CRM database of SIF and MQIM alumni, as well as contacts for funding, internships, and speakers.
  • Seek job placements for students in SIF/MQIM internships and capstone projects.
  • Carry out any special projects/duties deemed appropriate by the Centre for Financial Studies.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A University degree in a related field preferably in business or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Administrative experience.
  • 1-2 years of experience in the financial services industry and marketing industries.

Additional Strengths:

  • A graduate degree in business or MBA will be considered an asset.
  • Exposure to the corporate industry and experiential learning industry is considered an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and Interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and teamwork skills.
  • Strong networking and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience organizing and managing events.
  • Experience in mentoring university students.
