We are currently looking to hire two (2) Revenue (Billing) Specialists to join our Billing Services team in a permanent position reporting to the Billing Supervisor.
Key elements of this role include:
As a Revenue (Billing) Specialist you will:
- Investigate and resolve individual bill issues and exceptions from the daily billing cycle.
- Calculate and add bill adjustments to customer accounts.
- Calculate and recreate customer bills based on the various Nova Scotia Power approved fees and rates.
- Perform advanced billing functions such as: multiple bill cancellations, complex-level adjustments, re-issuing of multiple or historical bills.
- Communicate and work with staff in other departments such as Customer Care, Field Operations, Smart Meter Operations, etc.
- Provide billing subject matter support to internal and external customers.
- Adhere to billing and meter reading policies and procedures based on Rates and Regulations for Nova Scotia Power.
You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.
During major power outages you will be required to assist the Customer Care Center by providing customer phone support during and after hours.

You recognize yourself in most of the following competencies, and where possible possess the skills and experience listed below:
- Minimum of Grade XII education or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years' relevant experience with billing or metering functions.
- Competency using MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, SharePoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate issues.
- Work effectively as part of a small team in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Ability to problem solve, make decisions and/or recommendations.
- Organized and detail oriented with the ability to adapt to change.
- Good judgment, initiative, confidentiality, work ethic, and the ability to meet deadlines are of prime importance.
