Position Summary
Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, the Infrastructure Services team is responsible for providing stable, performing computing services to the organization. The successful candidate for the position of Systems Administrator will be accountable for the installation and maintenance of the Medavie Inc. Windows server and storage infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate for the position of Systems Administrator, you will be accountable for the following:
- Install various hardware, create virtual servers, configure, and manage physical and virtual hosts, and/or upgrade servers, including the operating system; follow established procedures for installations and update procedures as technology changes.
- Respond to service requests within the required service levels; interact with customers; answer questions; respond to special requests; provide technical support as required; communicate with 3rd party vendors
- Participate in a rotating on call schedule with the ability to be available within the required service level.
- Support new solution deployments, testing, troubleshooting, and help with issue resolution.
- Apply firmware and patches to servers; maintain supportability by upgrading server operating systems following established procedures.
- Monitor systems performance, capacity, usage, health, and security; use tuning products to recommend/implement changes to improve performance
- Understand the concepts of designs and the importance of having a design with a proven ability to document technical solutions.
- Act as security administrator for systems following established procedures that include vulnerability risk remediation and regular patching.
- Follow and provide procedural updates to existing documentation
Required Qualifications:
Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree with a focus in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
Work Experience: A minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of enterprise server support experience is required.
Technical Skills:
Must have experience working with the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows Servers, VMWARE vSphere. Demonstrate working knowledge of the following protocols and concepts: IPv4, DHCP, DNS, FTP, Active Directory, File Systems permissions, virtualization, and Storage Area Networks (SAN). Azure, Entra ID, InTune, Conditional Access Policies, Exchange Online, Proofpoint, SAML and SSO concepts and scripting with Powershell.
Other Qualifications
Language Skills:
Previous experience or familiarity with storage and networking concepts. Be familiar with the concepts and practices of high availability, capacity, backup, archiving and disaster recovery. Experience or knowledge with scripting and automation will be considered an asset.
English (Spoken and Written) required. French (Spoken and Written) considered an asset
Security Clearance: Security Clearance Requirement: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B) prior to your start date . This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.
