Behavioural Support Program - Team Lead

Nakile Home for Special Care in Argyle and Bay Side Home in Barrington have partnered in a one-year pilot project that has been extended to a third year, to provide dedicated behavioural support resources at both long-term care facilities. These will be holistic, person-centered supports for individuals experiencing responsive behaviors for reasons not limited to dementia. Supports may include mental health approaches, recreational therapy, one-on-one or group activities.

We are seeking one temporary full-time Behavioural Support Team Lead.

Behavioural Support Team Lead

Full-Time, 40 hours/week-One-year term, starting June 2, 2025

Responsibilities: Overall implementation, coordination, care planning and evaluation of the Behavioural Support Program, including oversight and management of Behavioural Support Staff.

Qualifications:

• Social Worker or Allied Health Professional (Recreational Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, RN, LPN, Dietitian) with special interest in responsive behaviours, strong leadership skills, ability to work collaboratively, and communicate effectively with individuals and groups.
• Experience working with the long-term care population and working knowledge of long-term care sector considered an asset.
• Education in mental health, dementia, or responsive behaviours are considered an asset.
• Additional training will be provided.

Rate of pay: $40.50/hour plus benefits.

Location: Based at Bay Side Home, with time equally split between Bay Side Home and Nakile
