As an Assistant Partnership and Sponsorship Manager, you will contribute to the overall success of the Partnerships and Alliances Team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
The incumbent will be responsible for planning and executing partnerships and corporate sponsorships, executed by Partnership & Alliances. Primary responsibility will be to support and coordinate with the Senior Manager, Partnerships and Corporate Sponsorships on the execution of strategies and well as managing the day-to-day client relationships of select representative group partners. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
Is this role right for you?

  • Supports the relationship management of representative group partnerships by:
  • Manages logistics and implementation of key representative group partnering initiatives and events: forecasting and maintaining project plans, reporting on project status' and ensuring progress against target dates for multiple internal and external stakeholders, and overseeing project management in MS Planner and Workfront.
  • Monitors and tracking visibility obtained through partnerships – including monitoring partner websites, emails and social media channels
  • Support representative group partnership renewals and new partner development including supporting on contract negotiations, and managing the partner evaluations, development of term sheets, contract development, stakeholder engagement, and post-signing comms and executions strategies.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams to develop content for external journals and newsletters aligned to marketing campaigns and external partner requirements
  • Work with stakeholders in the MD regions and Scotiabank to coordinate event attendance and company representation
  • Work with stakeholders at MD and Scotiabank to facilitate logo approvals, brand support, swag orders etc.
  • Supports the Partnerships and Alliances team functions by:
  • Attending events and acting as a representative ensuring the brand message and client experience are appropriately delivered and supports both staff and clients as required
  • Performing a variety of administrative functions, including budget tracking, creating purchase orders, verifying invoices, and correspondence
  • Supporting the gathering of information for quarterly reporting
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

The Must Haves:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in project and event management, business development, relationship management, marketing or communications.
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills, with an ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in fast-paced environments.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills as it relates to relationship building, corporate development and/or partner relations.
  • Knowledge or familiarity of physicians/medical profession and /or Canadian Health Care environment an asset
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is preferred
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related discipline an asset
