JOB TYPE: Permanent full-time

SCHEDULE: Day, Other, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Spoken French and English essential and written French or English

JOB SUMMARY:

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Human Services Counselor provides support, coaching and / or skill training to clients referred by the clinician to facilitate their recovery. He / she works in collaboration with the clinician, the client, other services and significant people involved. The work is usually done in the client's living environment and may include his or her community network.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school graduation or general studies (GED) plus an additional human services program/course of over six months and up to one year or equivalent;
• Suicide Intervention (ASIST) course or commitment to undertake the course based on set timeline
• Proven ability and interest working with the target clients;
• Ability to develop and facilitate various programs for individuals and groups of adult;
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record and have a car with appropriate insurance to transport clients. Must show Driver Record Abstract from Service New Brunswick Motor Vehicle Branch;
• Ability to work independently and as a team member;
• Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
• Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
• Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
• Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
