As a core member of the Enterprise & Business Applications workgroup, the Application Coordinator - ERP is responsible for the oversight and optimization, coordinating the planning, implementation, maintenance, and support of our ERP Applications. The Application Coordinator - ERP works closely with project managers, business analysts, technical architects, and the development teams to ensure that the applications meet the client's requirements and expectations. The ERP Coordinator works with the IT project teams and the business SMEs, to develop service level agreements with the business and vendors that ensure applications are supported to the satisfaction of those providing and receiving the support.

Responsibilities
  • Organize, co-ordinate and supervise the day-to-day work of Application staff involved in systems administration, application development, application support and data management.
  • Participate in a variety of management activities with staff including hiring, performance management, professional development, discipline, business plan development, setting priorities and objectives, budgeting, and labour relations.
  • Collaborates with Information & Technology Services (I&T) staff and departmental users to identify system requirements and improvements.
  • Analyze application configurations from IT project teams and build a repository of documents for basic understanding of the ERP Applications.
  • Responsible for the regular maintenance and configuration of applications, including application support for various user interfaces, operating systems, technical devices, platforms including desktop, web, and mobile.
  • Evaluates current state of our ERP Applications and provides input to the Strategic Plans for upgrades and/or user modifications.
  • Responsible for coordinating, and possibly project manage, standard application upgrades. Upgrades are a shared responsibility between the Application workgroup and the responsible business units.
  • Works closely with I&T Operations and I&T Technical Project Teams to ensure a smooth roll-out of new functionality and solutions.
  • Coordinates with Project teams and/or vendors on remediation of bugs or issues.
  • Participates in Architecture Review Board (ARB) meetings and collaborates with the Cybersecurity and Enterprise Architecture Teams to ensure that the App development, configuration, upgrades, and deployments are aligned with and follow the Cybersecurity and Enterprise Architecture standards and best practices.
  • Ensure the development and maintenance of procedures which automate the updating of the enterprise & businesses databases, where applicable.
  • Collaborates with the Cybersecurity Team and the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure that all activities for the administration of the application environments including access, security, backups, system development, documentation, performance monitoring, testing and database administration follow the standards and protocols that HW has in place.
  • Develop standard procedures and methodologies that follow Cybersecurity and Enterprise Architecture policies and protocols for application development and database development.
  • Responsible for the support and direct involvement in software projects as directed by Manager Enterprise & Business Applications.
  • Ensure completion of Transition to Operations in conjunction with the project team, I&T Operations, and the operational business unit.
  • Ensure the development of application documentation, including technical documentation and user guides for all supported applications is concise and meets the needs of the team to support the application.
  • Liaise with I&T staff, other agencies such as HALIFAX (Halifax Regional Municipality), and third-party vendors on corporate issues such as application and/or database performance, security, and distribution.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Computer Science/Information Technology degree or related discipline, equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Experience:

  • Minimum of five years related experience working with an ERP Application, specifically in Application support and data management, data analysis and enterprise application coordination in a corporate, multi-site technology-based environment; including 2 years in a coordinating applications or staff supervision role.
  • Experience in managing a team of resources.
  • Experience in administering and/or developing web, mobile, or desktop applications using various frameworks and technologies.
  • Working knowledge of common enterprise infrastructure systems, including operating systems, database systems and management tools.
  • Experience with software design, principles, patterns, and implementing best practices.
