McInnes Cooper is looking for a motivated and proactive litigation legal assistant to join our Litigation Legal Support Services team in our Moncton office for a permanent full-time position. The incumbent will be responsible for providing high-quality administrative support to a group of lawyers within an innovative team support model and ensuring that all clients receive superior service.
As a legal assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the efficient organization of lawyers' practices, including managing schedules, email correspondence, phone calls, logistics and meeting preparation, as well as travel arrangements;
- Establishing contact with clients and consistently exceeding their expectations;
- Document preparation tasks, including drafting letters, transcribing documents, scanning, printing, and making copies;
- File management, including opening and closing files and managing documents, both on paper and electronically;
- Organizing deliveries and mail
- Preparing client invoices and expense receipts; and,
- Assisting with meeting room preparation and setting up audiovisual equipment.
The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
- The ideal candidate will have a degree in legal administration or as a paralegal or other related training;
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience, preferably in litigation;
- Excel in a demanding and fast-paced team environment, be extremely detail-oriented and flexible in the face of changing priorities;
- Exceptional technology skills, with proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office and a genuine interest in staying up-to-date with new technologies;
- Exceptional communication skills, with a particular focus on customer service and the highest degree of professionalism; and,
- A positive attitude and enjoy working in a collaborative team.
