Scotiabank's Transformation Management Office (TMO), Global Risk Management (GRM) team is seeking a Manager, Change Management to join our team. Our best-in-class Change Management team supports GRM's Transformation Initiatives to implement effective and lasting change.

Reporting to the Director, Change Management, the Manager, Change Management, will support multiple initiatives, by designing and implementing change management activities that impact stakeholders to support change activities. The role will be accountable the development of change management activities including - processes, learning, and tools and resources to execute, manage change and achieve the objectives.

The incumbent will work in a highly dynamic project environment and is expected to integrate multiple, multifunctional projects while quickly adapting to evolving business priorities. As well, the incumbent will facilitate design and delivery of change initiatives including defining scope, establishing communications programs, building and delivering skills-based learning, tools and resources, while support with managing resistance.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Understand and apply the GRM TMO Change methodology and principles to develop change approaches that suit complexity and other factors to support stakeholders impacted by change.
  • Design and implement change activities, including communications, employee engagement initiatives, learning material, tools and resource, and evaluation and reporting for various audience (leadership, stakeholders (change champions, directors, people managers, employees etc.)
  • Assess, evaluate and anticipate organizational factors and stakeholder readiness, and execute plans to prepare, manage, and reinforce change.
  • Monitor success of change through tracking and reporting on progress of transformation initiative
  • Step out of the traditional change role to provide advice, guidance, and recommend solutions to project teams and individuals for large and complex initiatives to ensure successful implementation and benefit realization.
  • Design, update and build learning materials, and train-the-trainer resources where required.
  • Effectively project manage each transformation initiative to ensure timely deliverables.
  • Act as subject matter expert and advise on change management practices, adult learning and associated strategies
  • Partner and build effective collaborative relationships with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to align activities to strategy and support end user adoption.
  • Identify resistance and performance gaps and work with Change Management leadership, project teams and sponsors to develop and implement corrective actions.
  • Support VP, Transformation Management Office, Director & Head, Transformation Enablement and Director, Transformation Office with executive reporting and communications as required
  • Recommend, design, implement metrics of success.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Advanced knowledge of change management, adult learning and business transformation.
  • At least 5-7 years gained experience in a project/program environment with 2-3 transformational change management or learning and development experience.
  • Ability to deconstruct complexity and effectively communicate complex or ambiguous concepts to continuously move projects/programs forward.
  • Experience working with project leaders, business partners in an advisory capacity, particularly in addressing their role in effective change leadership.
  • Proven experience developing and executing change management tactics to ensure stakeholders are supported through the implementation process.
  • Experience working at a strategic level, liaising with stakeholders to identify potential change impacts and ensure change plans are in place.
  • Ability to analyze, research, organize and prioritize work and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be pragmatic decision maker.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including negotiation, influencing, presentation and facilitation skills.
