EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM COORDINATOR: PROGRAMS AND SERVICES
The Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers' Association is a professional organization of teachers with a membership in excess of 6,500. The mandate is the protection of members and the advancement of primary, elementary and secondary education.
POSITION:
The Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers' Association is inviting applications for the permanent position of Coordinator for the Employee Assistance Program for teachers. The anticipated starting date would be September 2, 2025. This program is jointly sponsored and overseen by the Department of Education, the Conseil scolaire francphone provincial, and the NLTA. The position is one of three EAP Coordinator positions and reports to the Executive Director of the NLTA through the Assistant Executive Director.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENTIAL
The successful applicant will be responsible for a wide range of duties associated with the coordination of the Employee Assistance Program, including intake assessment, counselling referrals and follow up services, file management, workplace relationships and wellness initiatives for teachers in Newfoundland and Labrador. The successful applicant will work in a team environment liaising with schools across the province to assess wellness needs and develop and facilitate wellness workshops. The position requires a highly motivated and adaptable individual who is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a confidential, fast-paced and high-pressured environment.
ACADEMIC
Applicants must hold a Masters' degree from a recognized university with major studies in health promotion, clinical psychology, social work, interpersonal relations, counselling psychology, or related fields, and have at least five years of relevant work experience. Consideration will be given to any equivalent combination of training or experience referenced above. A thorough understanding of the K-12 public education system in Newfoundland and Labrador, knowledge of counselling and wellness supports available to residents of the province, and experience delivering presentations/workshops related to employee (teacher) wellness would also be considered assets.
The position is located at the NLTA office in St. John's and does require travel, mainly within the province.
The ability to speak and deliver services in French would be an asset.

Salary and benefits for this position are in accordance with the NLTA Administrative Staff Agreement, with salary on the Government HL Scale 23 to maximum step 25, depending on experience and qualifications. The NLTA is an equal opportunity employer.
