Job Description:

As a member of the Everyday Advice Journey, Youth & Student Product Group, you'll be responsible for understanding and serving Youth/Student needs and experiences from end-to-end. You will continuously contribute to building innovative products and services that exceed customers' expectations.
Under NEW, a Product refers to a business or technology-enabled feature, service or offering that creates value for the customer. As a Product Owner I, you will primarily be responsible for ensuring that the Student Pod, creates value for the organization and customers through the delivery of customer-focused Products. You will also be responsible for providing advisory services to executives, business segment leaders to support the delivery of a product vision.

Act as the business lead for the Post-Grad segment. Lead, develop & implement strategies for Students and Post-grads across TD. You will align with other Product Owners and Senior Management to follow a product vision. You will provide user story designs, oversee development and completion of those designs, create and maintain a prioritized product backlog, and manage delivery blockers. You'll also continuously assess customer feedback by taking the pulse of the market, driving innovation, and collaborating with stakeholders. As a Product Owner I, you will actively consider how to maximize value, assess how the product or the delivery process can be continuously improved, contribute to a positive work environment, and ensure that the work embodies the Agile principles of transparency, collaboration, and engagement.
Accountabilities:

  • Lead the Post-Grad Pod: Support the user story design, development and completion oversight; accepting / rejecting user stories based on the agreed upon Definition of Done and Acceptance Criteria. Participate in Scrum or Kanban events (e.g. stand-ups, retrospectives) to express new ideas for improving product value or delivery efficiency and share with leadership as appropriate. Lead PI Planning and the submission of the Quarterly Business Review.

  • Continuously align with senior management on overall strategic vision, product delivery roadmap and user story design, development, and completion oversight.

  • Develop Student-focused solutions across functions or operations to support multiple business lines' overarching strategies.

  • Deliver financial literacy initiatives for Students; collaborate with CPB ESG & CAPA teams

  • Provide leadership guidance, make recommendations, and collaborates with the business to ensure solutions meet the business needs on complex projects or programs

  • Anticipate emerging business trends and regulatory/risk issues as a basis for recommending large-scale product, technical, functional or operations improvements

  • Facilitate conversations with multiple stakeholders (ex. MIS Partnerships, Product teams, RMP/Control Parents, TS, Marketing, etc.) to obtain feedback for backlog management where competing priorities may exist

  • Review performance analytics; recommend and champion strategies to enhance the Youth product experience

  • Develop and manage strong relationships with marketing, platform, channel and product partners

  • Understand the internal business and technical environment, proactively defining, aligning or integrating with relevant stakeholders, shared services control groups (or platform as appropriate) to make product delivery decisions and escalating to Senior Management as appropriate

Job Requirements:

  • Experience leading a high performing team, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead the team to focus on driving initiatives with the largest impacts

  • Excellent leadership and colleague development skills, ensuring to provide consistent & balanced ongoing feedback, support and coaching

  • Proven customer-centric, strategic thinking with a track record of delivering superior business results
    Keen understanding of marketing, project delivery, products, consumer trends and customer needs

  • Manage change - ability to succeed in an environment where there may be significant ambiguity and ever evolving circumstances. Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and an ability to "course correct" as needed

  • Proven ability in leveraging deep subject matter expertise to develop and deploy a vision and align others to that vision. Creative thought leadership required while also listening and engaging others to provide input in the shaping of vision

  • Highly effective communicator who engages colleagues, business partners, external stakeholders, and employees

  • Communicate difficult concepts; converts information to compelling business context and advice; influences and gains alignment across increasingly senior stakeholders

  • Expert presentation and facilitation skills and expert interpersonal and leadership skills to facilitate working with senior management at all levels

  • People leadership is key in this function – both the ability to effectively work in teams across the bank with multiple stakeholders and to influence and align others. The proven ability to manage a diverse group of professionals is critical to success in this role
