DUTIES
Under general supervision, the Stores Clerk will perform responsible work in purchasing goods within the Department of Technical Services utilizing a computerized purchasing system (MP2). Duties include procuring a wide range of materials, supplies, and equipment; conferring with customers to discuss needs; interviewing sales representatives; processing purchase requisitions; ensuring a smooth and expeditious flow of supplies to customers and keeping necessary records; acting as a lead hand in the supervisor's absence; driving departmental vehicles as needed; and performing other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Considerable experience (3-5 years) in a storeroom handling a wide variety of materials, supplies and equipment relative to area of assignment, preferably including purchasing experience; completion of one-year post-secondary education, supplemented by the completion of a PMAC Certificate in Purchasing, is required; or an equivalent combination of experience and training will be considered. Completion of WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods training, as well as familiarity with MP2 or a similar computerized purchasing system, is essential for this role. The successful candidate must hold a valid driver's license issued by the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Working knowledge of Banner Finance will be an asset.
SALARY $50,294 - $58,998 per annum (CUPE Local 1615)
