Who we are:
We invite you to join the Kings Landing team! Kings Landing's mission is to attract, engage, enrich, and educate the people of New Brunswick and visitors by showcasing the well-researched adaptation of people who lived along the St. John River Valley in the 19th century. We are seeking dynamic and motivated Labourers to join our maintenance team. This position is essential to managing Kings Landing's infrastructure to the highest standards while ensuring an enhanced visitor experience.

What you will do:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will be actively contributing to the upkeep and improvement of all Kings Landing facilities and infrastructure. This physically demanding role necessitates lifting and carrying, pushing, and pulling items weighing more than 25 pounds, as well as frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Some duties include:

  • Janitorial duties including sweeping, mopping, washing floors, and cleaning bathrooms
  • Emptying garbages
  • Lawn maintenance including mowing, raking, tree trimming, and brush clearing
  • Ensuring fleet vehicles are cleaned, both inside and out
  • Assisting the maintenance team with various site repairs, painting, and scraping
  • Moving supplies throughout site
  • Keeping all work areas clean, organized, and free of clutter to promote safety and efficiency
  • Carrying out other tasks as required

To be successful in this role, you have a great respect for health and safety procedures and are able to work independently as well as part of a team. You are able to prioritize tasks, think critically, and problem-solve.

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Required Competencies:

  • Ability to read and write
  • Possession of a valid New Brunswick Class 5 driver's license
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate the essential qualifications to be given further consideration. Please ensure that preferred language for assessment is identified on your resume.

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience in labour, landscaping, or janitorial work
  • Valid Emergency First Aid/CPR certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures

Wage:
$24.07 per hour

Work environment:

  • Office location: Kings Landing, Prince William, NB
  • Environment: Indoors/Outdoors - work site is noisy and dusty - may work in adverse weather conditions (sun/heat, rain, snow, cold) and may work from heights
  • Standard hours of work: Shift work and/or variable hours including weekends and holidays
